Novermber 28 - Allcargo Logistics, the India-based integrated forwarding services provider, has won a contract from Reliance Infrastructure Ltd to transport 66 units of super over dimension cargo (SODC) from points across India to its subsidiary, Sasan Po
Sasan is commissioning a 3960MW ultra mega power plant (UMPP), and Allcargo Logistics is responsible for transportation, Customs clearance and port handling of the various oversized cargoes - including a generator-stator weighing 345 tonnes.
In order to transport the machinery, a 1,100 m bypass over the Stone River was constructed in a record time of 26 days. The current bridges in place were unsuitable and unable to support such large structures.
