March 11 - German company Schiffahrts-Kontor Detra has launched a new liner service - Detra Mediterranean Shipping (DMS) - between Europe and Algeria, which will accept breakbulk, steel, project and heavy lift cargoes.
The service's first vessel, Bremer Fortuna, has departed from the Port of Leixoes in Portugal and is currently on its way to the Algerian seaports of Algiers and Oran.
The next departure from Brake, Antwerp and Leixoes is scheduled for the first week of April.
The liner service will be complemented by an additional ro-ro service, with a 14-day frequency, from Emden and Zeebrugge to Casablanca, Morocco and Mostaganem in Algeria.
