March 26 - Alexander Global Logistics GmbH has secured a new transportation project for a pipe and tube production plant from Europe, India, Thailand and China to Houston in the USA.
The contract, which includes shipments of approximately 700 40 ft open top containers, as well as some 3,000 freight tonnes of breakbulk and out-of-gauge cargoes, was awarded to Alexander against strong competition from a number of multinational forwarders, explained Jürgen Weyhausen, the company's director of projects.
The scope of Alexander's work includes precarriage, sea freight, documentation, export Customs clearance, track and trace, and survey by its in-house experts in the countries of origin.
The first container shipments have begun and the project is expected to be finished within a four month period.
Alexander Global Logistics is a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) network in Germany.
