December 2 - ALE has been awarded a major contract in Azerbaijan for the transportation of oversize and overweight components for the SOCAR fertilisation project.
ALE says this is the largest contract its Baku branch has secured to date. It will be responsible for the transportation of more than 40 out-of-gauge and super-heavy components.
The UK headquartered heavy lift specialist will provide shunting within the port of Baku, through to delivery to the Sumgayit project site some 100 km away. ALE's role in the project commenced in October 2015 and will continue through until September 2016. To date, the heaviest item delivered weighed 367 tonnes.
Fuad Mammadov, regional business development manager, said: "We faced tough competition to secure the contract; one of the major factors that allowed us to become the assigned contractor is market knowledge, technical expertise and availability of the equipment."
