October 19 - ALE has recently transported another 118-tonne module for the expansion of the La Cruz refinery in Venezuela using self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT) supplied by Scheuerle.
ALE used 40 axle lines of Scheuerle SPMTs to move the module, which measured 32 m x 11 m x 8.5 m. The company also used spacers to ensure the length of the trailer was sufficient for the load.
"The construction of petrochemical plants follows a precise and demanding schedule. Any deviation costs money which is why more and more transport companies or plant operators are deciding in favour of our transport solutions," claims Rainer Sasse, area manager, sales at TII Sales.
"If any additional modules or accessories are quickly required, they can be immediately rented on all continents."
As part of its deep conversion project, the La Cruz refinery, which is owned by Petroleos de Venezuela, has been continually expanding oil production in the state of Anzoátegui - 300 km east of Caracas - since 2014.
