June 30 - Agility has formed a joint venture with South Africa based supply chain management and transportation specialist, Super Group.
Having acquired a minority stake in Super Group's freight forwarding unit, Agility has formed SG Agility Proprietary, which will be led by Henk Theron, former ceo of Micor - Super Group's freight forwarding business.
According to Agility, Micor has been one of its global strategic partners since 2005. The new venture will offer local and multinational customers a range of logistics and supply chain solutions, including air freight, ocean freight, road freight, Customs clearance, warehousing and distribution.
SG Agility will be headquartered in Johannesburg, with branch offices in Port Elizabeth, Durban and Cape Town.
