November 4 - Hungary's Ács-Gép Holding has invested in three Liebherr mobile cranes - one LTM 1200-5.1, an LTM 1300-6.2 and one LTM 1500-8.1.
Budapest headquartered Ács-Gép's primary business is renting tower cranes, but it also operates a rental fleet of around 30 mobile cranes.
Ács-Gép said the mobile cranes purchased came with long booms - the LTM 1200-5.1 came with a 72 m telescopic boom while the LTM 1300-6.2 features 78 m telescopic boom.
"The new Liebherr cranes will enable us to erect and dismantle tower cranes effectively and very quickly at great heights. In addition, the LTM 1300-6.2 features the very latest technology. The single-engine concept and VarioBase are very advanced", said László Ács, managing director of Ács-Gép.
In addition to erecting tower cranes the LTM 1500-8.1 will also be used in a variety of heavy-duty projects, including the construction of motorway bridges, renovation work in power plants and refineries. It will also be used to handle wind energy components, boilers and turbines at the ports on the River Danube. The new 500-tonne crane will replace an old LTM 1400-7.1 in the Ács-Gép fleet.
