August 16 - Air Charter Service (ACS) coordinated the delivery of 11 Pablo Picasso paintings from France to Morocco on board an Antonov AN-12.
The pieces of art were transported for an exhibition in Morocco, and were insured for EUR150 million (USD175 million).
According to Francois-Xavier Camus, managing director of ACS's French office, the Antonov AN-12 had to fly below its usual cruising speed and altitude in order to maintain a steady temperature and for the cabin to remain pressurised.
ACS also redelivered the paintings back to France, which had to be kept upright at all times, following the successful exhibition.
