September 15 - Abu Dhabi Ports posted an increase of 21 percent in general and bulk cargo throughput in the first seven months of 2015, compared with the same period in 2014.
With ro-ro operations transferred to Khalifa Port from Zayed Port earlier this year, volumes in that sector also rose by 11 percent, which the port authority put down to improved efficiency at Khalifa.
Container throughput also grew by 41 percent year-on-year in the reporting period.
Over the past seven months, Abu Dhabi Ports says it has invested heavily in upgrading infrastructure, implementing new technologies and buying new equipment to expand operations.
