December 15 - Aaras Shipping Agencies has discharged around 75,520 tonnes of cargo from three breakbulk vessels at Pakistan's Port of Karachi.
The first vessel, Hong Harvest, arrived at the port carrying project cargo for a 50 MW wind power plant on behalf of Yunus Energy. The consignment comprised 60 wind turbine blade frames and 30 wind turbine blades, with the dimensions 49.19 m x 2.7 m x 3.39 m and an overall weight of 360.8 tonnes.
Aaras' stevedores discharged the blades from the vessel and loaded them directly onto hydraulic multi-axle trailers, before arranging transportation from the berth to storage area. On completion of Customs formalities, Aaras coordinated the 120 km overland transportation of the cargo to the job site.
The second vessel, Yuan Hang, arrived in Karachi with 2,185 pieces of project cargo, including: cement plant equipment and machinery for Cherat Cement Company; construction machinery and equipment for Huaneng Shandong Ruyi (Pakistan) Energy; machinery and equipment for the ongoing Soda Ash plant in Khewra; four double-decker buses for The Tourism Development Corporation Punjab; equipment for SEPCOL Electric Power Construction; as well as steel structures and other metal units for various projects.
The final vessel, U Lucky, delivered 1,609 units of cargo, weighing a total of 5,328.77 tonnes, into the Pakistani port. The consignment comprised of steel construction material for Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission; 46 crawler crane pieces for Steady Lift Pakistan; and one 20-tonne capacity crane for use in one of Trade Channels' projects in Lahore.
