June 28 - AAL has transported 13 haulage trucks, weighing 170 tonnes each, from Laem Chabang Port in Thailand to the Port of Nakhodka in south east Russia.
The Komatsu 830E mining trucks, each over 14 m in length, were transported on the 19,000 dwt S-Class AAL Dampier, on behalf of Freightplus.
The trucks were loaded and unloaded using the vessel's own cranes, which have a combined lifting capacity of 700 tonnes.
According to AAL, the trucks will be employed at a Siberian mining project and are especially designed for off-road use in high-production mining and heavy-duty construction environments.
The shipment was booked by AAL's Brisbane office and managed by AAL's Tramp & Projects team.
