The industrial action is being carried out by members of the Construction, Forestry and Maritime Employees Union (CFMEU).

These strikes are at four ports, Brisbane (January 9-15), Port Kembla (until January 17), Melbourne (January 13-27), and Fremantle (until January 12).

AAL Shipping has forewarned that there will be restricted stevedore working hours, resulting in operational delays and port congestion. The company has stated its desire for a speedy, amicable resolution.

Last week, Shipping Australia issued an appeal for an end to the industrial action.
