Volga-Dnepr Airlines has transported oil and gas equipment onboard its Ilyushin IL-76TD-90VD aircraft from Singapore to Melbourne, Australia.
The equipment included four compressors and two rotors. It was delivered for P-cube aviation for urgent repair and maintenance works.
Volga-Dnepr said that it processed all flight permits in one day, with the flight taking off on July 14.
Ekaterina Andreeva, commercial director at Volga-Dnepr, said that the airline has always had a strong presence in the oil and gas transportation market. “Despite turbulent times in 2020, major oil and gas projects are still vital to various national economies, which explains our two-fold uptick in 2020 volumes for this sector so far,” she added.
