Steder Group has coordinated the transport of equipment on behalf of Van Oord from Nigeria to the UAE.
The project involved moving 4,000 cu m of cargo from Port Harcourt to Ras Al Khaimah; 1,000 tonnes and was loaded on Zeamarine’s multipurpose vessel Industrial Fusion.
After unloading the equipment, Steder Group coordinated the loading of 17,500 cu m (6,000 tonnes) of cargo destined for a refinery project in Dos Bocas, Mexico. Approximately 4,500 tonnes of cargo, comprising mostly of reclamation equipment, was loaded at Van Oord’s quay in Ras Al Khaimah Maritime City.
However, due to draught restrictions in the channel, the final 1,500 tonnes of cargo was loaded at a neighbouring port in Saqr.
Anchor handling and side wire pontoons were towed to Saqr port from from Van Oord’s facility, moored and then lifted onto the vessel. Smaller items were delivered to Saqr by road.
