Sinotrans Sarens has relocated a 100-year-old convent building in Jinan, China, using 120 axle lines of SPMTs.
The building weighed 2,600 tonnes and measured 36 m x 16 m x 16 m.
As part of a preservation project, the structure was moved 50 m to the east, rotated and then moved a further 26 m.
Due to its age, the operation demanded the utmost precision. “To address the challenge of moving such a vulnerable historical structure, Sinotrans Sarens formalised a strict transport standard and deviation of less than 10 mm horizontally, 2 mm vertically, and 4 percent slope,” said the company.
