Indian logistics service provider and XLP member Prologis Freight has imported three air-cooled screw chillers from Shanghai, China, to Nhava Sheva, India.
The chillers, used for both industrial and commercial purposes, collectively weighed 31.1 tonnes and were delivered in six 40-ft (12.2-m) flat rack containers.
Challenges faced during the shipment included aligning the shipping schedule with the supplier which required extensive planning and constant communication to ensure timely loading. Likewise, with over 31 tons of weight, the company needed specialised equipment for secure loading and transportation to prevent any damage.
According to Prologis Freigh, navigating the customs process in India was critical and its logistics team prepared all necessary documentation to facilitate smooth clearance.
However, despite the planning, it faced unexpected delays that required quick thinking to keep its client informed and reassured.
Prologis Freight worked closely with its shipping partners, ensuring that the delivery arrived on time. The logistics firm also navigated the customs process when the cargo arrived in India.
