Project Cargo Network (PCN) members Goodrich and CMX Global Logistics have coordinated the shipment of four 37-tonne gearboxes from Australia to Kazakhstan.
The gearboxes measured 2.8 m x 2.6 m x 3.5 m and were accompanied by 32 containers.
The cargoes were transported from Australia to the port of Tianjin, China onboard a ro-ro vessel. CMX oversaw the lashing and securing operations, as well as the arrangement of the required cranes and trucks.
Upon arrival in China, Goodrich offloaded the gearboxes onto four trucks for the 4,000 km journey to Kazakhstan.
The containers were shipped to a transit port in China and transported to Kazakhstan on a block train.
In a separate project, fellow PCN member KGE Baltic transported three industrial silos from Nienburg, Germany, to Miskolc, Hungary.
One unit measured 14.52 m x 3.5 m x 3.75 m and weighed 15.9 tons (14.4 tonnes). The other two units measured 14.92 m x 3.65 m x 3.85 m and weighed 19.3 tons (17.5 tonnes) each.
