Pasquinelli Spa has moved a 460-ton (417.3-tonne) yacht from Chioggia to Ancona, Italy.
Measuring 62 m x 12 m x 20 m, the yacht was loaded on to a barge at a workshop in Chioggia and delivered to Ancona via the Adriatic Sea. The tug vessel Hypsas, with a 33-ton (30-tonne) bollard pull, assisted with the move.
Pasquinelli also decided to further stabilise the barge by sinking pylons into the water. This counter-balanced the unexpected waves created by passing tourist boats.
While these additional precautions – and a change in tides – delayed the scheduled departure, Pascquinelli said the yacht was still delivered on time.
Pasquinelli is a member of the WCA Projects network in Italy.
