Panalpina has coordinated the delivery of four heat exchangers from the USA to Angola for a deepwater oil platform.
With a total weight of 47,210 kg (47.21 tonnes), the heat exchangers were shipped from Huntsville to Luanda as part of a scheduled shutdown of the oil platform.
For the transport of the two larger exchangers, weighing just over 16 tonnes each, Panalpina worked with Atlas Air to design the shipping skid and pallet tie-down to deliver the units on a Boeing 747-8 freighter.
The exchangers were loaded on the aircraft at Panalpina’s Huntsville airfreight gateway for transportation to Liège, Belgium where the cargoes were transferred onto a flight to Luanda.
