Dutch transport specialist M.J. Van Riel has delivered an 88-tonne transformer from Regensburg, Germany, to Veghel in the province of North Brabant, the Netherlands, using its CombiMax trailer from Faymonville.
The 4+6 lowbed combination had an overall length of 33.5 m and a total weight of 155 tonnes. After crossing through Germany, the convoy reached the last phase of the project: the last few kilometres along the N622. Here, the CombiMax combination called upon its agile pendle axles to negotiate a roundabout and navigate through an underpass.
Then, M.J. Van Riel had to reverse the trailer from the main road to the transformer station. Once all the chains and tension belts were released, a waiting mobile crane picked up the transformer and placed it on the designated spot a few metres from the low loader.
