Megalift Malaysia has handled the offload and final delivery of a generator stator and a transformer for the HI-Toshiba-Hyundai consortium.
Megalift received the cargoes at Port Klang, Malaysia, before transferring them by barge to Jimah. The units were rolled off the barge using SPMTs and delivered to the final project site – the Jimah East coal-fired power plant.
Megalift utilised a strandjack system to turn the generator stator by 90 degrees, in preparation for its final installation.
The generator stator measured 10.95 m x 6.8 m x 5.47 m and weighed 462 tonnes. The 480-tonne transformer measured 12.6 m x 8.2 m x 7.57 m.
