Martin Bencher delivered a 205-tonne transformer from Helgum to Stor-Finnforsen, Sweden during May.
Jonas Peterson, project manager from Martin Bencher’s Gothenburg office reported that the most critical part of the move was crossing a bridge in Helgum: “The bridge is not strong enough to withstand the loads from both trailer and transformer,” he said.
Using skidding beams, Martin Bencher skidded the transformer over the 200 m-long bridge, before loading it back on to the trailer with hydraulic jacks.
In a separate project, Martin Bencher transported 12 breakbulk pieces, including a 134-tonne evaporator, from China to Uruguay.
Martin Bencher oversaw local transportation in China, sea transportation, and the unloading operation in Uruguay. From there, Quantum Forwarding took over port operations.
