Belgium-based Gosselin has been acting as general contractor for the marshalling yard at Ineos Project One. On June 1, BigLift Shipping’s Happy Star delivered the first two heavy lifts at PSA Belgium Breakbulk Terminal (410).

A 591-tonne splitter and a 347-tonne demethaniser were safely discharged onto double 32-axle SPMTs from Felbermayr. The cargoes were safety moved through the yard and landed onto stools supplied by Sarens.

Originally receiving its environmental permit from the Flemish government in 2022, the plant at the Port of Antwerp will convert ethane into ethylene, one of the basic raw materials for plastic production. In July 2023, the permit for Ineos Project ONE was revoked on environmental ground. Ineos Olefins Belgium submitted a request to amend the permit application to the Council for Permit Disputes in October 2023. On January 7, 2024, the environmental permit was reconfirmed on appeal.
