Croatia’s Velebit Promet has moved a 103.5-ton (94-tonne) transformer from Slovenia to Sweden using its CombiMAX trailer from Faymonville.
After two months of planning, Velebit Promet mobilised its Faymonville trailer to the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, where the transformer was waiting. The unit measured 7.29 m x 2.62 m x 4.13 m and was loaded onto a 5+7-axle lowbed combination.
Including the truck, the overall combination measured 36 m long and had a total weight of 170 tonnes.
From Slovenia, the transformer began its 7,000 km journey to Scandinavia. Velebit Promet first delivered the transformer to Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where the trailer combination was loaded onboard a vessel for transportation to the Swedish port of Sundsvall. On arrival in Sweden and discharge at the port, the cargo was moved a further 200 km overland to a substation near Länsterhöjden.
