Dubai-based Fleet Line Shipping (FLS) has delivered several crane components from Shanghai, China to Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The equipment comprised components for gantry and bridge cranes, with some units measuring up to 42 m long and weighing 29 tons (26.3 tonnes).
For the door-to-door shipment, FLS chartered a geared vessel and coordinated the discharge of the cargo in Jebel Ali. The units were then hauled to the consignee’s premises in Abu Dhabi by road.
According to FLS, one of the biggest challenges of the project was obtaining the necessary police and escort permissions to move the trailers in a single night.
