Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Ghana has transported four grinders and their accessories, with a total weight of 243 tonnes, from the port of Tema in Ghana to the Kiaka gold mine in Burkina Faso.
The mine is operated by Australia-headquartered West African Resources and AGL was responsible for the loading, Customs clearance, transport and delivery of the equipment.
The oversized cargo, measuring 11 m wide and 6.85 m long, was accompanied by government agencies from the Ghana Highway Authority, Ministry of Roads and Highways, the police and the Electricity Company of Ghana for the transport.
The project called upon AGL’s international network and offices; its partner Antrak Australia was responsible for the loading in the port of Marghera for transport to Tema, with AGL Ghana coordinating the operations between the port and the mine with the help of AGL Burkina Faso.
The Kiaka mine is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2025.
