Oil and gas project contractor AF Offshore Decom has successfully prepared, cut, removed, transported and set down three jackets at an offshore site in the North Sea.
After mobilising onboard Scaldis’ Rambiz vessel, AF Offshore Decom’s team completed the leg cuts before lifting the jacket and transporting it back to the port of Den Helder in the Netherlands. It was subsequently set down alongside the two previously removed jackets on an Ugland Construction transportation barge.
As with the previous two jackets, the final jacket will be sea-fastened and the barge readied for the tow to AF Environmental Base Vats, in Norway. Here, the jackets will be transferred to the quayside and cleaned of marine growth, before the structures are dismantled and recycled.
