3P Logistics Industrial Projects has delivered a stamping press from the port of Hamburg, Germany, to Skawina, Poland.
The cargo needed to moved 900 km by road, with the preparation for the project taking almost five months. The shipment comprised 11 packages, totalling 97 tonnes. The heaviest unit weighed 65 tonnes.
3P Logistics used specialised lowbed modular trailers from Goldhofer for the moves. Once loaded with cargo, the heaviest truck tipped the scales at 125 tonnes.
“It took three weeks to get a permit for the 65-tonne cargo in Germany and around five weeks for Poland. It seems that the German heavy transport crisis has ended,” said Ilya Goncharov, project manager/industrial projects at 3P Logistics Group. “The project also required a route survey, bridge conclusion, pilot, and police escort cars,” he added.
In Skawina, the stamping press, manufactured in China, will be used to produce supplies for the automotive industry.
