Dutch heavy lift and project logistics company Xellz has secured approximately 200,000 sq m of land at the port of Rosslare in the Republic of Ireland through its subsidiary, Xellz Ireland.

The land adjoins the port area, with direct access to the quay, and will be used for offshore supply base operations – including pre-install assembly – to support future offshore wind farms.

“We are very excited to have been able to secure this land which will give us the opportunity to start the development of the port area and to make it ready for the near future offshore wind farms in the Irish and Celtic Sea,” said Peter Bouwhuis, president and ceo of Xellz BV.

There is also 100,000 sq m of land available for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) wishing to participate in renewable energy projects.

HLPFI reported in January on Xellz’ investigations into the potential of an offshore supply base in the south of Ireland for future offshore wind energy projects.
