August 14 - SAL Heavy Lift has transported twelve Damen vessels from Vietnam to the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Two Stan tugs 2608; nine ASD tugs and a Multi Cat 1908 were transported on board SAL's heavy lift vessel, Lone.
The vessel has a combined lifting capacity of 2,000 tonnes, a deck space of 3,300 sq m and a hold size measuring 107.1 m x 17 m x 13.7 m.
Damen developed a system of modular vessel cradles that, in combination with integrated lifting points on the tugs, results in safe and efficient loading and unloading of the vessels.
According to the Dutch shipbuilding company, the shipment is a strategic positioning of built-for-stock vessels in Europe.
