The UK’s port of Blyth has partnered with Thompsons of Prudhoe in order to expand its offshore decommissioning capabilities.
The Northumberland-based port has already completed several offshore decommissioning projects at its 2.3-ha designated site. As part of the partnership, GBP1 million (USD1.3 million) will be invested to expand this area of the port.
According to the port, expansion works will commence immediately, with the facility remaining open for business throughout.
Located on the UK’s east coast, the port said it is well placed to serve all sectors of the North Sea.
