Wagenborg Nedlift has adopted bamboo beams for jacking operations.
Traditionally, tropical hardwoods such as Azobé are used for such operations. However, Wagenborg decided that a more sustainable product was required.
It said that bamboo not only has better mechanical qualities than Azobé, but it also boasts more sustainable and ecologically characteristics. A high-quality, controlled production process guarantees constant quality as well as dimensional stability. Bamboo jack beams are not sensitive to the weather conditions, said the company.
The bamboo beams have been independently inspected and certified by SGS.
The first projects using the bamboo jacking material have already been completed.
