Crane and heavy haulage contactor Darcy Pacheco has deployed two Liebherr LTM 1220-5.2 mobile cranes to erect a statue in Brazil.
At a height of 43 m, the statue of Christ will stand 5 m taller than the famous “Christ the Redeemer” statue in Rio de Janeiro, making it the largest of its type in the country.
The LTM 1220-5.2 mobile cranes were used in a tandem operation to raise the enormous arms of the statue – which span 36 m.
The five-axle 220-tonne capacity mobile crane can achieve hoisting heights up to 101 m and radii up to 88 m using lattice extensions. Liebherr added that the 60 m telescopic boom ensures plenty of hoisting height for the statue.
