The ALL Family of Companies has purchased a package from Manitowoc that includes five crawler cranes and an assortment of jibs, boom attachments and other accessories.
The package comprises two Manitowoc 14000 series 3 and three MLC300 VPC series 3 cranes. ALL also purchased two MLC650 VPC wide boom attachments and a 14000 luffing jib; a 999 luffing jib; a MLC300 VPC wide boom attachment; MLC300 VPC-MAX attachment; and a MLC650 VPC-MAX attachment.
Rick Mikut, ALL Crane’s crawler crane division manager worked with Manitowoc on upgrades to the 220-ton (199.6-tonne) capacity 14000 series 3 lattice boom crane. He said: “Among other things, the new 14000 fills a capacity niche that will be highly useful for setting girders in bridge work.”
ALL said that the purchase of the three MLC300 VPC units is indicative of the crane’s continued popularity. The company added that the attachments included in the package provide greater flexibility of use to customers.
Mikut said that the wide boom attachments are desirable for their safe performance in higher winds: “In wind energy construction and repair, for example, the ability to operate safely even in an extra 5 miles per hour gives you an edge when you’re working up that high.”
In addition to wind work, Mikut expects the new crawler cranes and attachments to be deployed for infrastructure works, industrial applications, and plant maintenance.
Delivery of the cranes and attachments will occur throughout 2021, with distribution across ALL’s 33 branches.
