Consolidated Shipping Services (CSS) has coordinated the transportation of over-dimensional and general cargoes from Khalifa Bin Salman port in Bahrain to a power and desalination project located inland.
The shipment is part of an ongoing project being handled by CSS for the Electric and Water Authority in Bahrain.
CSS’ scope of work included receiving the cargo under the hook at the port, movement to a storage area within the port, Customs clearance and inspection of cargo, as well as transportation to site. In total, 2,529 freight tons of cargo was handled.
Some challenges were faced including acquiring permissions amid the ongoing Covid-19 situation, and road works along the route.
CSS is a member of Project Cargo Network (PCN), representing Bahrain.
