UK-based Collett & Sons has transported a 55-tonne lathe from the University of Sheffield advanced manufacturing research centre to a nearby site 1.6 km away.

Measuring 12.7 m x 3.5 m x 3.5 m, the lathe was raised by a gantry system. An eight-axle self-propelled Scheuerle InterCombi trailer was positioned under the suspended cargo before it was lowered and secured.
Once outside the facility, the self-propelled trailer was attached to a Mercedes-Benz Arocs truck and accompanied by a Collett pilot car escort for onward delivery.
After arriving at the manufacturing site, the cargo was transferred on to a skidding system and moved to its final position.
