According to media reports, Seaway 7 has said that there was incident involving the folding A-frame of the main crane on its newbuild transport and installation vessel Alfa Lift at the shipyard in China.
The unplanned movement of the folding A-frame is currently being investigated, said Seaway 7 – the merged entity of Subsea 7’s offshore fixed wind unit and OHT, which ordered the vessel.
No personnel were injured during the incident, which Seaway 7 said is a matter between the shipyard and crane vendor. It added that it is too early to indicate if it will have an impact on delivery schedule of the vessel, which has been contracted to work at the Dogger Bank A and B projects in the UK.
