Al Jazeera Shipping has expanded its fleet with a Liebherr LR 1400 SX crawler crane.
According to Liebherr, it is the first 400-tonne capacity LR 1400 SX in the Middle East. It will be put to work on several projects with Bapco and its refinery in Bahrain, beginning in May 2023.
Al Jazeera Shipping is one of the largest marine operators in the Middle East Gulf region, with a fleet of over 150 units of tugs, barges and other equipment. The LR 1400 SX will replace one of the company’s older generation crawler cranes.
The company decided upon the Liebherr crane because of its short assembly time, its preselection feature of individually customised load charts and its capability to preselect barge inclinations, which automatically applies the permitted load curve.
