March 10 - Members of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) raised USD43,500 for the Filipino children's charity Albert Schweitzer Familienwerk Foundation at its 17th annual conference at Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa in Cebu, the Philippines.

The conference, which was held from March 8-10, welcomed delegates from across the world for an enjoyable two days of networking, presentations and social events, sponsored by the WWPC's member for the Philippines, Royal Cargo, along with Combi Lift, Rickmers-Linie, Volga-Dnepr Group and Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL).
 
As well as a cocktail reception, one-on-one meetings and sponsor presentations, members heard from Michael Raeuber and Elmer Sarmiento of Royal Cargo about the opportunities for project logistics work in the Philippines.
 
Today, March 10, the WWPC members held its annual auction for a local charity, raising the record amount of USD43,500 for the Albert Schweitzer Familienwerk Foundation, which operates a shelter for children on the island of Mactan.
 
Auction items were donated by Combi Lift, Rickmers-Linie, Volga-Dnepr Group, BNSF Logistics, HLPFI, ITJ and Breakbulk.
 
The members also voted to hold its 2018 membership conference in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with Steder Group as the nominated sponsor for next year's event.
 
At the members-only meeting, Gerald Hess - managing director of BNSF Logistics in Canada - was appointed as a new member of the network's board of advisors.
