June 10 - The WCA Family of Logistic Networks has appointed Miss Duangdao Sorensen (Nueng) as its new specialist networks manager.
Nueng will be taking over responsibility from Richard Overton. In her initial role, she will be primarily focusing on the Dangerous Goods Logistic Alliance (DGLA) and the Perishable Logistic Alliance (PLA). The WCA Family also includes the WCA Project Network (WCAPN), an alliance comprising many of the world's most experienced independent project forwarders and other service providers engaged in project forwarding-related activities.
Nueng has over 10 years experience in the logistics industry. Before joining the WCA Family she worked with Maersk Line for almost 10 years, mainly based in Bangkok as a senior sales manager, handling multinational trade lanes both dry and reefer cargo. She also worked as a local pricing and trade analyser for South China with Maersk Line Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, the WCAPN has confirmed two new members: Shenzen-based Shenzen United Power Ocean Shipping and Forwarding (UPTRANS) and UK-based Brinor International Shipping & Forwarding.
Shenzhen UPTRANS was founded in 2006 and focuses on the international marine transport of bulk cargo, such as heavy equipment, construction machines and foreign aid project material.
Based in Felixstowe, Brinor started out providing a trailer service between the UK and Germany and now incorporates groupage, part load and full load operations to and from all European countries. It also specialises in project cargo transport.
WCA Projects Network (WCAPN) will be hosting its 4th annual conference in Barcelona, Spain from June 16-18, 2010. This event brings together members of this alliance and is being held in Europe for the first time.
