April 7 - Global ship agency WaterFront Maritime Services (WaterFront) has expanded by adding five new network partners across North and South America as well as the UK, in a move that provide it with a further 57 offices and access to more than 400 staff
The WaterFront ship agency service network - established by joint shareholding companies Sharaf Shipping Agency and Ben Line Agencies - now includes Alpemar Shipping Agency (Alpemar) in Argentina, Unimar Agenciamentos Marítimos (Unimar) in Brazil, Naves Ship Agency Services (Naves) in Colombia, Biehl & Co in the USA, as well as Casper Port Agency (Casper) for the UK.
Terry Gidlow, chief executive officer, WaterFront Maritime Services, commented: "This is a significant development for WaterFront, and for the ship agency sector - which has traditionally seen expansion through acquisition, rather than mutually-beneficial partnership arrangements.
