July 28 - The Port of Vancouver USA's board of commissioners has approved a lease agreement with its long-term tenant Vanport Trucking at a recent meeting.
Vanport Trucking employs 22 full-time workers at the port and occupies 31,500 sq ft (2,926 sq m) of warehouse space. The renewed lease is expected to generate USD1.55 million in revenue for the port over its initial ten-year term.
The Port of Vancouver USA board also discussed its search for a new ceo, following the stepping down of Todd Coleman in May. The board has since appointed chief financial and administrative officer, Julianna Marler, as intermin ceo.
Following discussions, the board has decided to begin a national ceo search on October 1, with the view to appointing somebody in early 2017.
