June 2 - Buenos Aires-based project forwarder Plate Logistics has undertaken a number of contracts that highlight the importance of underground exploration to the project cargo sector.
For drilling machine industry client EDM Exploration Drill Masters, Plate moved two EDM 2000 Track Mountmultipurpose drilling rigs and accessories (seen below) from Santiago de Chile, Chile to Tema, Ghana Republic.
The six pieces, two drilling rigs, two drill rig masts and two wooden boxes with accessories, came to 370 cu m. They were loaded at Santiago de Chile and moved 1,500 km to the port in a surface move that required six trucks.
Meanwhile, 10 hydrostatic articulated vehicles were the core of a shipment for land and marine seismic data acquisition client Global Geophysical Services to the quayside in Argentina for storage before movement to Brazil and the USA.
The consignment compromised 1,700 cu m of vehicles and material.
Plate Logistics was formed in January 2009, as a subsidiary of the Grimaldi group. It was created to provide international logistical forwarding including heavy lift and ro-ro shipping within Latin America and internationally.
