In order to strengthen its focus on projects, oil and gas and marine logistics, Kuehne + Nagel decided to consolidate its management structure in 2012, which involved the strengthening of its corporate, regional and national teams by bringing in new competence to the organisation, said Strømmen.
"We are also investing into new dedicated IT solutions for our business solutions together with development of new emerging markets for projects, oil and gas, and marine logistics," he added.
Since the fourth quarter of 2012 Wolf and Strømmen had joint responsibility for the projects, oil and gas, and marine logistics side of the business, but after Wolf's retirement from the company on December 31, 2013, Strømmen has taken the role of corporate lead at the company's European headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.
Wolf had been head of Kuehne + Nagel's global project division, which comprises of more than 50 locations in over 40 countries, since 1996.
According to reports in the international media, since his retirement Wolf has established a new company - Nils Wolf & Associates GmbH - in Hamburg, where he will work as a self-employed consultant for project logistics, shipping and transport.
