September 4 - SAL Heavy Lift Singapore has transferred Alexander Poetz, senior project engineer and naval architect, from the company's Hamburg headquarters to its Asia/Australasia base in Singapore.
"Alex's appointment to SAL Heavy Lift Singapore is an evolutionary step," said Justin Archard, managing director of SAL across the region.
SAL's operations in Asia/Australasia are moving towards more and more complex project work requiring more engineering hours and real time solutions. The company is currently busy moving sections for Australia's new offshore gas installations, such as Ichthys off the coast of Darwin.
"Many of the items we're transporting are unprecedented in terms of both weight and sensitivity," said Archard.
Archard explains that with such complex projects requiring real time engineering and significant planning, SAL made the decision to bring Poetz to Singapore in order to make best use of his knowledge and skills.
