The port of Açu – a privately owned industrial complex in São João da Barra, Brazil – has appointed José Firmo as its ceo, effective November 1.
Firmo has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and previously held senior management positions at Seadrill and Schlumberger. He will be responsible for the development of the port complex and its consolidation as an oil and gas hub.
Meanwhile, the the port of Açu has signed a cooperation agreement with the Chinese port of Guangzhou. Under the agreement, the companies will share best practices and knowledge on port operation and management.
