July 13 - The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) has appointed Zachary Thomas to lead its operations service centre (OSC) and promoted Bob Meyer to head up port operations and manage safety.
Thomas joins NWSA with over 23 years of experience in the maritime industry. Prior to his new role, he has held a variety of positions with Ports America, most recently serving as general manager in Tacoma.
Before joining the Port of Tacoma in 2014 to manage the US gateway's non-containerised cargo facilities, Meyer spent several years with Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL).
When the ports of Seattle and Tacoma formed the alliance in 2015, Meyer transitioned to NWSA. In his expanded role, he will direct operations at all port-operated terminals and rail yards, while heading up the alliance's safety programme.
