The supervisory board at the Seaports of Niedersachsen, Germany, has appointed Timo Schön as its managing director.
Schön replaces Inke Onnen-Lübben, who - after 12 years working for the company - announced her intention to step down from the role in February 2018.
Previously, Schön trained as a shipping merchant and was working for the Hamburg-based shipping agent Frachtkontor, managing its business in the Baltic Sea region before taking over the management of all of Frachtkontor's German branches.
In his new position, starting on August 1, 2018, Schön will oversee the management of the Seaports of Niedersachsen, bringing his extensive experience in port marketing, committee work, administration, and politics to the company.
Felix Jahn will continue to serve as the second managing director of the company.
