February 19 - EFH Zurawie Wiezowe SA and Gastel SA announced a merger that will create a new name in the Polish heavy haulage, lift and crane rental market.
EFH specialises in the hire of Liebherr, Wolffkran and Terex Comedil tower cranes. It also sells Terex Comedil tower cranes into the Polish market. Gastel rents hydraulic, crawler and tower cranes across Poland; handles transportation of oversized loads; manufactures prefabricated products; and erects wind farms and telecommunications structures.
HLPFI understands that the new company, Gastel Zurawie SA, will have a large fleet of tower cranes, hydraulic cranes, crawler cranes, and transportation units, working from seven offices.
Earlier this month, in Piecki, Gastel completed the installation of 16 wind turbines on behalf of Gamesa, using a Terex Demag CC 2500 for the main lift and four hydraulic lifts. Six semi-trailers were used for the transport of oversized items, carrying supplies for the construction of turbine parts, the final stage of which took place in extremely adverse weather conditions, both in terms of temperature and snowfall.
