The Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC), Priority Cargo Network and the Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) networks have joined the World Ocean Council (WOC).
WOC is a multi-industry alliance that facilitates collaboration on sustainable ocean initiatives. The organisation includes industry stakeholders from a wide range of sectors including shipping, oil and gas, tourism, fisheries, mining and renewable energy.
Wolfgang Karau, director of the WWPC, Priority Cargo Network and CEE, said: “We have to take care of our planet and clean oceans for future generations. Most of our members are based close to shores and waterways and I am sure that our membership with WOC is the right step to manifest our commitment towards a cleaner tomorrow.”
WOC ceo Paul Holthus added that maritime transport and logistics, responsible for moving approximately 90 percent of international trade, “are fundamental to the future of the ocean”.
